Sunny Meadow Loop is our happy-place hike. Flat, open, and surrounded by tall grass and little pink and purple flowers. On clear days the whole meadow glows green-gold and it feels like walking through a storybook.

We walked the loop twice because she didn't want to leave. A family with kids waved at us; she wagged at everyone. Border collie social hour. There's a small pond at the far end where she paddled her feet while I sat on a flat rock and ate an apple.

Can be muddy after rain — we wore old shoes and still got splashed
No bathrooms, but there's a picnic table near the parking area

If you're new to hiking with a dog, start here. Short, pretty, and forgiving. We left with grass in my hair and a very content border collie.
